After a freak explosion during rehearsals The Contenders find themselves with Super Powers. Surely now they can become the best band in the world!

However, there is an evil force at work in the music world. Mr. X and his manufactured music empire are determined to take over the world (of music) and will do anything to destroy 'real' bands and any potential threats to their money making machine.
